Earthquake Speech

Hi! I’m Yurina! I want to talk about earthquake, Japan and New Zealand.

This picture is famous earthquake in Japan. Of cource, you know;earthquake give our life big damage.

“Houei” earthquake is the biggest earthquake in Japan in 1707. The magnitude is about 8.6. The earthquake killed 2 million people.
This is picture of Inangahua and Hawke’s Bay .And the “Wararapa” earthquake in 1855 is the biggest earthquake in New Zealand. The magnitude is about 8.2. The earthquake lasted shaking for at least 50 second.

Most earthquakes in New Zealand occur along the main ranges living from Fiordland in the southeast to East Cape in the northwest. Because Japan and New Zealand is on Ring of Fire, our countries have a lot of earthquake. As long as we live in Japan, we should be careful!

Earthquake in Japan and New Zealand

Earthquake is occurred in anywhere. Some are small, others are big. We are often influenced of earthquake. Of course, Japanese people have something to do with it a lot. The cause of earthquake is plate that move everyday. The Earth’s surface is covered with plate about 100km.






Japan: There are forth plates on Japan; Pacific plate, North American plate, Eurasia plate and Philippine Ocean plate. There are strikes under the ground. And the “Kantou Daishinsai” in 1923 killed about 100,000 people. At the age, Tokyo was destroyed by the fire. Recently “Niigataken Chuuetsu” Earthquake become a big problem that a life after earthquake.









New Zealand; There are two plate; Pacific plate and Australian plate. Pacific plate lays on most of Sothern Island. On the northern island and a part of sothern island, Australian plate are layed. Because of some big earthquake in 1848 and 1855, Wellington is suffered serious damage. The Wairarapa earthquake in 1855 is the biggest earthquake in New Zealand.

Geography of New Zealand

New Zealand is island located in south pathetic ocean and away about 9000km from Japan. There are north island, south island, Stuart Island, Chatom Island and some small island away of centre.




The island is long shape in north south like Japan; the total length is about 1700km and the maximum width is about 450km. Also mountains are watched anywhere, especially south Alps lie whole of south island. Mt. Cook is the highest point in the New Zealand. And there are many beautiful lake and some rapid river.

My Speech for Nagoya Festival

Hi I’m going to introduce about “Kyoudoeisaku Parade” and “Dasizoroe”. In “kyoudoeisaku” parade, three famous “shougun” come out. And those wives also come out with them. The parade wear joined over 700 people. During the parade, the “shougun” perform re-creation of battle in sengoku age. In this year, a lot of people came to watch the parade. This is the photo in this year.


Look at the left photo. He comes out first. Do you know him? He is Nobunaga Oda. His wife is Nouhime. Next Hideyoshi Toyotomi comes out second. His wife is nene. Last Ieyasu Tokugawa comes out. And his grand child named senhime also comes out. Every year the roll is chosen from the recruitment in public. If you want to participate in the parade, you can apply that next year.







It is “Dashizzoroe”. Nine precious “dashi” come out together. These “dashi” is named each. Surprisingly, some sansha was made in 15 century! Its pass city hall, “Sakuradourioutsu”,Sakae. You can watch that there. In this nagoya parade, I couldn't watch at all. But I reserched the parade I want to not watch,but particeparte as shogun in the parade! If girls can apply for shogun, I will put up for the role. Why don't you put up the role?

Toyohashi Matsuri

I like “matsuri” very much. Do you like “Matsuri” too?

In my Toyohashi city, there is “Toyohashi Matsuri”. Do you know Toyohashi Matsuri? In this season, Toyohashi main roads are decorated with many light every year. the road become beutiful like Christmas night.

In Toyohashi Matsuri, A main event is “Souodori”. There are 10,000 people. They wear costume they like and dance in main road . In the road, they walk with dancing. I think it looks “Bon odori”. So they practice the dance until that day.

In this year, the 54 th Toyohashi Matsuri hold on October 18 in night. And every year, some guests come. In this year, the guest is jyero. Do you know? He is a singer that sings “enka”.

If you can’t attend the “sou odori”, you can watch the dance. And a lot of stalls are hold. It is one of the enjoyable points in Toyohashi Matsuri also.

In few years ago, I joined the matsuri with my friends. I wore “yukata”. I enjoy dancing. It is good memory for my life.

My Favorite Movie

I like to watch DVD very much. In summer vacation, if I had time, I watched some DVD. Today I want to introduce a movie “How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days”. I like this movie. This movie is love story and comedy. There are mainly 2 persons, a woman named Andy who is newcomer in writer and a man named Ben who works in advertising agency. One day, Andy decided to association a man for an article “how to lose a guy in 10 days”. sha must be turned gown in 10 days. And Ben also must be fallen a women to get a job. Then two people start their bet.

Ann was played by Kate Hadson. She was born in Carifornia. Her mother is Goldie Hown who is a actor and his father is Bill Hadson who is a singer.
Ben was playe by Matthew MaConaughey. He was born in Taxis. He was selected for “most sexy guy” in 2005.

Do you want to watch the movie by the end?
Ben and Ann are flashy fallen in love soon. Then she tried to be hated . Fow example, she changed his room to like her and leaved 17 messages in his mobile phone and so on. But he put up with her to get a big project. He just said her, I loveyou. So she performed more hateful women for man. Finally there are 10 days, they go to a party. Can she be turned down by him for hours?

You must be going to laugh and feel happy. I recommend this movie so much!!

My Summer Vacation

I want to introduce my summer vacation. please read this!!

During vacation, I worked as part timer five days a week. I woke up and I washed my face and made up and ate dinner. And go part time job!! But sometimes I studied English, because I had some chance to meet a few foreigners. They came as casters, so I could have chance to explain menu in English. In spite of the fact that I couldn’t speak English well he was pleased my effort. That is why I regret that, I studied English. I thanks for him.

On August 13, I go to Shinshiro city to see fire works with my boyfriend. It is small festival, but it was amazing day for me!! Unfortunately, my boyfriend doesn’t like to visit crowd. But he invites me the festival. So I was very happy. I was looking forward to coming the day. In that day, we wear Yukata. I was laugh throughout. Next day I go to Touei town with friends who are my high school friend. I woke up at 6 and we left Toyohashi at 7. My friend derived about 2 hours. We have car navigation system but we lost the way. It is good memory now. We reached destination. There is big clean river and are some people. We enjoyed swimming with float ring and slide of rock and so on. Then we started BBQ only 5 girls. But no one knew how to do BBQ, so we couldn’t build a fire. Fortunately an old man came and built a fire. We became lucky girls!! this city has a famous festival in Feburary. I introduce the festival !! here!!

One day I had a plan that I visit my friend home. But it rained a lot in my city in that day. Surprisingly rain reached my ankle. I couldn’t across intersection and I stayed there 20 minutes. When I arrived her house, my denim was drenched with rain. She had a baby. We had some kind talk and laughed throughout. Next day she bore a baby. I feel I am god for bearing baby. I am so happy!! I want to see her baby as quickly as possible.

In end of August, I went to Osaka to see my friend. First day we went to shopping in Nanba. In night, we went to “supapu”. It is wonderful place, because there are big pool and big “onsen”. I like there very much. So we went to there every night in Osaka. Next day we went to “Universal Studio Japan”. In there, I was a little crazy girl. I enjoyed it. On the day we had a chance to talk foreigner and took a picture with them. Final day we went to “Doutonbori”. In Doutonbori we walked while eating. I contented to eating Osaka’s food. In a return train, I was sleeping. I enjoyed Osaka but I was tired for long walking. I thought I grow old.

I had an exiting vacation. In spring vacation, I want to go abroad. How did you do summer vacation?
